Summary
Thinking and decision making in an lean / agile way is not easy or often natural. Taking a big picture viewpoint and avoiding myopic optimisation takes practice and insight. Any organisation trying to shift its culture faces many challenges and it takes time. As a result many organisations still function in the same way they always have. Jose Casal is here this month to shine some light on what can be done within this context to improve outcomes with the application of modern management methods. Stepping away from the run of guidance and process based topics we’ve recently had Richard Tasker will get back to agile engineering and back to basics with an introduction to Behaviour Driven Development and its interface with user requirements.

Jose Casal
Jose Casal is the Chair of the BCS Agile Methods Specialist Group. He is a member of the Lean Kanban University (LKU) Advisory Board, the Conference Chair of the London Lean Kanban Day (LLKD) and a Programme Committee member of the Lean Kanban UK (LKUK) Conference. Jose was the leading creator of the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile. As an experienced Agile Coach and Trainer working with Radtac, Jose is an Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT), a certified APMG AgilePM Trainer, a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and a DSDM Advanced Practitioner.

Richard Tasker
Richard is a Senior Developer at HH Global a digital media and print management company. He is enthusiastic about writing clean maintainable code. Previously Richard has introduced a number of agile processes to the projects he has worked on. Now he heads up a global team using numerous agile techniques to maintain the project. Richard was introduced to Agile and TDD straight out of University and has continued to expand his knowledge on the subject ever since. He has presented a number of times on the subject of Behaviour Driven Development at the Leeds based user group, LeedsSharp.
