Over the years Agile Yorkshire has attracted some of information technologies most renowned gurus. Anyone who makes a presentation at one of our gatherings will be following in the footsteps of many well known authors and thought leaders within the software industry. That said Agile Yorkshire also exists as a platform for local practitioners and each month a shorter speaking slot is filled by someone from within the community.

Meetings are generally fully subscribed and attract around 40 people in a friendly mix from development, testing, product management, design and leadership roles. Personal development and continued learning are the common denominator.

If you are a visiting industry luminary considering a trip to the north and would like to combine a little business with pleasure, please take a moment to consider these facts about our region:

  • Leeds is the third largest city outside London (British urban pattern: population data).
  • Its the “UK's largest centre for legal, and financial services outside London” (NOMIS, 2010).
  • The UK Headquarters for Walmart, Morrisons, First Direct, Orange and Jet2 are in Leeds or Bradford.
  • Leeds has been described as the “Knightsbridge of the North” (Lonely Planet 2005).
  • Yorkshire contains three of the UK’s National Parks and is within striking distance of a couple more.

All speakers can expect coverage though the Agile Yorkshire website and social media as well as helpful audience feedback.

If you would like to speak at an Agile Yorkshire monthly gathering we are always on the lookout for "on topic" ideas from anyone, just drop an email to speakers@agileyorkshire.org.

2025 October Sheffield Meetup

Agile Yorkshire is going on tour again, and this time we are heading back to Sheffield. In partnership with BCS South Yorkshire, we are hosting a special meetup at Sheffield Hallam University to bring together the wider agile community. The evening will feature inspiring talks from expert speakers, practical insights, and plenty of opportunity to connect with fellow practitioners. Following the success of our earlier tour events, this meetup continues our mission to share knowledge and strengthen agile practice across Yorkshire. Join us in Sheffield for an evening of learning, collaboration, and community spirit.
