2015 November Meetup

Tue (07:00 PM - 09:00 PM)

Summary

The software development landscape has always been well populated with design and delivery methodologies or process frameworks and guidance. Current thinking changes and slowly the industry walks forward with new ideas for better delivery and, often more importantly, greater adoption. The agile movement has been around for over fifteen years now and while it flourishes in some companies, it is rejected by others. The Scaled Agile Framework has hit the market over the past couple of years and targets the concerns of larger organisations with bigger teams. Aaron McKenna will help lift the lid on Scaled Agile Framework with an evening of planning SAFe style.

Programme

SAFe Planning In Action
The Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) has a special event that is held for every Program Increment (5 sprints-ish). This is a large scale, collaborative event including everyone from the Agile Release Train (50 people plus). These workshops are highly interactive events where all participants are involved in one of many teams collaborating together to plan a single Program Increment for a single product. The schedule roughly contains: • Overview of SAFe® Program Increment Planning • (Fictional) Business Context • Product / Solution Vision • Architecture Vision And Development Practices • Planning Session 1 • Draft Plan Review • Planning Session 2 • Final Plan Review • Risk ROAMing • Confidence Vote • Retrospective These will be fast-paced, high octane sessions with a lot of fun!
