The Problem With Change
"The only constant in life is change." - Heraclitus Change within organisations is often driven by the need to adapt to evolving market conditions, technological advancements, and competitive pressures. Despite knowing that change is always likely to be 'hiding around the corner', it is often disruptive and can be challenging to deal with. In this short talk, we begin to investigate the problems associated with change and the impact that change initiatives can have on organisations, teams and individuals. This will lay the foundational 'building blocks' for a longer interactive workshop in July where we look to demonstrate how the emotions felt by individuals when change occurs and explore the techniques that could be used to contribute towards successful change initiatives.

Vernon Richards
I’m a Quality Coach & Tester who helps teams build better products by understanding the relationship between quality & software testing. I’ve been testing since 2002 starting with video games on PS2, Xbox & PC. It may not sound like a real job but it’s the truth! By day I’m a Senior Expert Quality Engineer at a health tech company. By night I run Abode of Quality. Here is one of my core values: “The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude (& how you’re thinking) about the problem.” - Captain Jack Sparrow (the part in brackets was my addition though!) I believe that quality & testing problems are actually people problems in disguise! Often the cause of these problems is misaligned goals, different perspectives, low empathy for colleagues, and so on. Using my coaching skills in the quality and testing space, I believe the most effective way to serve the business is to help teams and individuals gain new perspectives about themselves and their teammates.
