Diversity has been talked about a lot over the last few years and is prominent in the news at the moment, we also know the IT sector and particularly software product development organisations are especially guilty of having a lack of diversity and the resultant influence this brings to product development and general team makeup.

Gary McAdam discusses the concept of Minimum Viable Product (MVP), which he first encountered in The Lean Startup. He explains that MVP is about building the smallest version of a product to validate a hypothesis. However, Gary highlights a common misconception: that MVP often turns into a negotiation of features rather than an iterative, hypothesis-driven process. He warns against using MVP as a way to fit in more features or launching a single MVP that neglects continuous learning. Scrum is pretty specific about defining the roll of Product Owner but in real life the roll of Product Owner seems to vary quite a lot across different organisations. 

It’s not clear why this roll is so misunderstood but the effectiveness of the Product Owner has a direct influence on the prevailing risks and the flow of produced value. 

John LeDrew discusses how some of these issues surface within teams and provides more food for thought on this issue.

For a team to work together in a super functional way, collaborating and exploring every aspect of the design to produce great solutions there has to be unquestioned safety.
